Terms of servicePrivacy policyRefund policy

These terms apply when you use Clubfarer (the "site"), whether or not you have an account. Please read them, because by using the site you agree to them. If you buy a membership or a research request, they form the contract between you and us.

1. Who we are

Clubfarer is run by Teiva Jabbour, a sole proprietor based in the United States, trading as Clubfarer ("we", "us"). Our postal address is 500 4th ST NW Suite 102 #2258 Albuquerque, NM 87102 United States. You can contact us at hello@clubfarer.com.

2. What the site is

The site is an independent guide to private members' clubs: their fees, reciprocal arrangements, facilities, joining processes and rules. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any club listed. Some information is free to read; more detailed information and tools are available to paying members.

3. Accuracy of information

We collect information from clubs' own published material, other clubs' published reciprocal lists, the press, Wikipedia and reports from members. We show a source for each figure and label how reliable we think it is. However, clubs change their fees, rules and arrangements without telling us, and sources can be wrong or out of date.

Always confirm details with the club before relying on them, especially before applying to join, paying any fee, or travelling on the basis of a reciprocal arrangement. A club appearing on another club's reciprocal list does not guarantee it will honour a visit; you will normally need a letter of introduction from your own club.

4. Your account

You need an account to buy a membership. You sign in with a link sent to your email address. You must be 18 or over, give us an email address you control, and keep access to it secure. You are responsible for activity on your account. Memberships are for one person and must not be shared.

5. Paid membership

Plans and payment

Membership is available monthly or annually at the prices shown on the join page when you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. Prices include any tax we are required to charge.

Immediate access and your right to cancel

Membership gives you immediate access to members-only information. When you join, you ask us to start your membership straight away and confirm that you understand you lose your 14-day right to cancel once it starts. We confirm this in a confirmation email after you join. See our refund policy for when we do give refunds.

Automatic renewal

Your membership renews automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period, and we will charge your payment method at the then-current price, until you cancel. For annual memberships we will email you a reminder before each renewal.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account page, in a few clicks. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again. Refunds are covered by our refund policy.

Price changes

If we change the price of membership, we will email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, so you can cancel before it takes effect if you wish.

Changes to what membership includes

We keep improving the site and may change features over time. We will not remove a major feature you have paid for during a paid period without offering you a pro-rata refund for the rest of that period.

6. Research requests

Members can ask us to research a specific question through the research requests page. Sending a request costs nothing extra on top of your membership and does not commit you to anything. We will tell you whether we can take it on and send you a quote. If you accept and pay, we will deliver a written answer with sources within the time we state (normally 10 working days).

If we cannot deliver the answer we agreed to, we will refund you in full. We do not obtain members-only documents, share anyone's personal details, or arrange proposals for membership of any club. Where we pass on views from current members of a club, they are shared with those members' permission and without identifying them.

7. How you may use our content

The site's content, including our compiled data on clubs, reciprocal arrangements and fees, is protected by copyright and database rights. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial reference: to research clubs, plan visits, or decide which club to join.

You must not, without our written permission:

  • copy, download or extract substantial parts of the data, whether by hand or automatically (for example by scraping, crawling or using bots);
  • republish, sell, license or share the data, or members-only content, with anyone else;
  • use the data to build or improve another directory, database, product or service, including training AI systems;
  • try to get around the paywall or access members-only areas without a membership; or
  • use the site in any unlawful way, or in a way that harms the site or other users.

Quoting a small number of facts with a link back to the site is fine.

8. Information you send us

If you send us corrections, updates, reports or research questions, you allow us to use that information to improve the site, including publishing it without identifying you. Please only send information you are entitled to share, and never members-only material from a club or other people's personal details.

9. Clubs and corrections

If you represent a club and something about it is wrong, email corrections@clubfarer.com. We aim to review corrections promptly and fix errors quickly. Paid or sponsored placements, if we ever offer them, will always be clearly labelled and will never change our data or how clubs are ranked.

10. Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care and skill, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that. Loss is foreseeable if it was obvious it would happen, or if we both knew it might happen when you signed up.

Because the site is a reference guide and we tell you to confirm details with clubs (section 3), we are not responsible for decisions you make, or costs you incur, by relying on information on the site without confirming it. We only provide the site for personal use, so we are not responsible for any business losses, such as lost profit or business opportunity.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

11. Suspending or closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing a membership or copying our data. If we close your account for a reason that is not your fault, we will refund any part of your membership you have paid for but not received.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the site or the law. We will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page, and email members about significant changes before they take effect.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you have a complaint, please contact us first at hello@clubfarer.com and we will try to resolve it. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring them in your local courts. If you live elsewhere, you may also have rights under the laws of your own country.

Clubfarer is independent and not affiliated with any club. Every figure links to its source, but fees and arrangements change, so confirm with the club before relying on anything here.

Represent a club and spotted an error? Email corrections@clubfarer.com and we will correct it promptly.
