Privacy policy
Last updated 19 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Clubfarer collects, why, and what rights you have. We collect as little as we need to run the site, and we never sell personal information.
1. Who is responsible
Teiva Jabbour, a sole proprietor based in the United States, trading as Clubfarer, is the "controller" of your personal information. Because we offer the site to people in the UK and the European Union, we follow UK and EU data protection law (the UK GDPR and the GDPR) for their information. Contact us about anything in this policy at hello@clubfarer.com or 500 4th ST NW Suite 102 #2258 Albuquerque, NM 87102 United States.
2. What we collect and why
| Information | Why we use it | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your email address, when you create an account | To sign you in and run your account | Needed to provide the service you asked for (contract) |
| Membership and payment records: your plan, payment dates, billing country and a Stripe customer reference | To take payment, give you access, and keep tax records | Contract; and legal obligation for tax and accounting records |
| Research requests: your email and the question you send | To reply, quote and carry out the research | Steps you asked us to take (contract) |
| Corrections and update suggestions you send | To keep the site accurate | Our legitimate interest in accurate information |
| Technical information such as IP address and browser, in server and security logs | To run the site securely and prevent abuse | Our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure |
We do not receive or store your card details; Stripe handles them. We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Emails about your account, payments and renewals are part of the service and are not marketing.
3. Information about club members
The site is about clubs, not individuals. We do not publish club members' names, membership lists or other personal details, even if they can be found elsewhere. Where current members share their views of a club with us for research requests, they do so with their agreement, and we pass their views on without identifying them.
4. Who processes information for us
We use a small number of trusted service providers, who may only use your information to provide their service to us:
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores accounts, membership status and research requests | European Union (Frankfurt) |
| Stripe | Processes payments and subscriptions | United States and elsewhere |
| Resend | Sends sign-in and account emails | United States |
| Cloudflare | Hosts the site and protects it from attacks | Global network |
We run the site from outside the UK and the European Union, and some of our providers are in the United States. Where information is transferred outside the UK or EU, we rely on the legal safeguards our providers put in place, such as approved contract terms or adequacy arrangements. We may also share information if the law requires it, for example with tax authorities.
5. How long we keep it
- Account information: while you have an account. If you ask us to delete it, we will, except for records we must keep by law.
- Payment and tax records: seven years, to meet tax record-keeping rules.
- Research requests: two years after we last reply, then deleted.
- Security logs: for the short period our providers keep them, usually days or weeks.
6. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. It is needed for the site to work, so we do not ask for consent for it. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever add analytics or other optional cookies, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information (unless we must keep it by law);
- restrict or object to how we use it, including objecting to anything based on our legitimate interests; and
- give you your information in a portable format.
Email hello@clubfarer.com to use any of these rights. We will reply within one month. It is free, unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the EU, the authority in your country.
8. Children
The site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page, and email account holders about significant changes.
